How Your Sleeping Position Affects Your Health

2.1 Back Sleeping

Sleeping on your back is often hailed as one of the healthiest sleep positions. It allows your spine to rest in a neutral alignment, reducing the risk of back and neck pain. Additionally, back sleeping can help prevent wrinkles and breakouts by keeping your face off the pillow. However, it might worsen snoring and sleep apnea symptoms for some individuals.

2.2 Side Sleeping

Side sleeping, particularly on your left side, is beneficial for digestion and heartburn relief. It can also reduce the risk of snoring and alleviate sleep apnea symptoms. However, improper pillow support can lead to shoulder and hip pain. Pregnant individuals are often advised to sleep on their left side to improve blood flow to the fetus.
